Happy weekend! I meant to post this last Friday, but my Friday got away from me. Lots of exciting things in my real life going on that have nothing to do with the online world, so I can’t complain.
So, I love TikTok. I love TikTok because it’s absolutely unhinged. I actually think it’s fascinating how unhinged it is. It’s probably my favorite social media. It honestly feels like an internet escape in all its unhinged glory. This app never fails to make me laugh.
One of my favorite parts is when memes come and just completely blow up. They’re the memes that no one knows if you say in person unless they’re on TikTok.
And even so! They don’t always get to everyone on the tok. And they are also strangely unifying.
You also know it the second you see the first video.
Kind of like Biscuit-Tok in 2022. That was a wild time. It created a random community of people, but at the same time, it wasn’t too random. There was absolutely a similarity between us all on it. Everyone who got swept up on Biscuit-Tok had a love for nostalgia, vaporwave, or decades past. Were you on it, too?
Now, there’s a new meme in town. This meme is apparently so advanced; it’s from the future, and “you’ll understand in 2027”. If you understand the title of this bulletin, then you know exactly what I’m talking about.
Anyways, luh calm fit, and the borzoi-looking bird is all over my for you page… and I’ll admit, I can’t get enough of it. I also highly anticipate this being a huge Halloween costume this year.
From the interface sound to the edit to the AI-generated image to things like this, it’s one of those things that is true internet gold. As soon as I saw it (this was the first video I came across before the luh calm fit floodgates opened, and now it’s everywhere), I knew it would be around for a bit.
Sometimes, the internet feels so serious and scary. I have a huge personal post coming soon about all of this. It’s about why I was back on Instagram and my entire history with the internet. I also touched on it here.
That said, I’m no longer on it. After a full month on it, it honestly proved all my thoughts right. I was a fool to get back on Meta, a company I truly believe is evil. I went against my beliefs and regret it. I now also fully believe IG is a dying platform and will eventually shift to Threads, but that’s a story for another day. I actually have a post about Threads I originally posted on my old blog I wrote the day it launched, so I’ll bring it here soon.
I miss the old days of the internet a lot. I actually mourned them. Was it a death in some sort of way? The death of the internet I knew and really, really loved. I had an existential crisis (my very first one!🥹) about it. I thought about going offline 100% and never, ever, ever returning. No social media, no blogs, no websites, nothing — just me touching grass.
With every passing day, it seems that our digital selves (and data) are more important/valuable than our physical lives. I spent many of the past few years being sad, scared, and angry about the direction of the internet. The internet I loved is a thing of the past. I honestly don’t know if I love it anymore.
I wonder if people realize that web2 is as gone as web1. We are at the beginning of web3 now. We have long passed the point of no return. Same with AI, that ship sailed even longer ago. If we are being honest, I’m not anti-AI - it just MUST be treated with respect and care and used for good. I’m also not anti-TikTok, as ridiculous as it is, and I have my reasons (post for another day).
I’m also not anti-metaverse; in fact, the metaverse (lowercase) excites me, and I hope to be one of the pioneers in it. I am working really hard to create a new virtual ecosystem. That said, I will also never enter the metaverse, even what I’m working on, via headset. Once we get to that point, I will probably leave the online world for good and again, just touch grass forever.
What I am vehemently against is centralization under the guise of decentralization; it’s why I will never in a million years be on Threads. Not to mention, I don’t like their logo.
I only believe in a decentralized metaverse, and, like AI, the metaverse cannot and should not be controlled or monopolized (or inescapable). I also believe the consequences of attempting to monopolize both the metaverse and AI are dire and are being wholly underestimated. No amount of money or power can control either, and none of these companies seem to grasp that.
When I realized this in 2021, it felt like the rug was ripped from under me. I felt like Eric Northman in True Blood when he realized what was actually going on at the Vamp Camp in Season 6 (if anyone knows what I’m talking about; s6e6). It’s one of the only times you see him legitimately scared in the entire series. It led to my existential crisis and why I was offline for so long. But on the bright side, all of this led me to my Faith, which has been one of the most beautiful things, if not THE most beautiful thing, I have ever experienced in my entire life.
Silly, unhinged memes like luh calm fit always feel like a glimmer of the old internet. Why so serious?
So luh calm fit, you creepy bird you; you are always more than welcome on my feed!
Anyways, let’s get into the bulletin. If you ever followed these on mycyberspace 1.0, they were a personal update like the above (though usu much more lighthearted lol) and a bunch of links… so here.. we.. go!
When I have my super personal posts (which will always be paid access ijs), those will also be a part of the Friday bulletins, just minus all the links.
I guess this could have been a personal post, but I’d feel silly putting luh calm fit behind a paywall. :-) Consider this a taste of what paid posts are like that don’t involve Plaza (which Plaza is and will be a big part of the subscription once launched).
FWIW — the personal posts are much longer and take days/weeks to write. And honestly? I’ve overshared so much for free for over a decade now; it’s nice to have some things closed off behind a paywall for exclusive access.
I love shopping in the men’s section at J.Crew. I mean it when I say I audibly gasped when I saw this jacket. Once I see more reviews on this jacket re: sizing, I WILL be purchasing it. My love for Argyle runs deep, AND it’s a cozy teddy sherpa?! All I can say is 😍😍😍😍
I also love this sweatshirt a lot. And even better- the color is called Cabernet! If/(let’s be serious, when) I buy it, I’ll get it in either a Men’s Medium or Large.
Something I can write a 50-page essay in less than 30 minutes… Why the Internet Isn’t Fun Anymore. I actually think we, as a collective, will log off entirely in the near future. I know I probably will (and will get dumber with my electronics and phone). I also urge people to learn more about the words centralization and decentralization.
Are you on the Spotify Daylist train? I’m kinda obsessed. I actually was on their beta of it around this time last year, and it’s very similar to something I was trying to create with 019 Wine Spotify. It’s a perfect mix of AI/algorithms getting it just right. Basically, every 3 hours, it creates a playlist according to your listening preferences. Interesting stuff! Access yours here.
Got 25mill to blow? If so, this house in River Oaks on Lazy Lane (iconic street!) is availi and a collaboration with Robert AM Stern. The indoor pool here has shown up a lot on my Pinterest, and one of my favorite indoor pools in Texas. Would if I could (I’d make it a winery), but alas.
My favorite indoor pool ever? Stern’s Llewelyn Park, house in New Jersey built in 1982. Now THIS is my dream indoor pool and one of my fav interiors of all time. I love how both this one and the one above have the metal palm trees.

Speaking of: this palm tree lamp has been on my radar for a year now. I really want it for my Plaza Vintage studio. That said, I gotta get things launched and going before I can treat myself. One woman show here!
Some makeup I’m loving lately: Merit Fox Blush (!!! easily my new favorite blush), Hourglass Reflect eyeshadow (so pretty on blue eyes), this eyeshadow brush (THE BEST!), and the Gummy Bear Laniege Lip Mask (love it before bed, but the purple tint is especially pretty during the day and makes lips look plumper).
Also, I really love all the Rhode lip tints. The colors are gorgeous, and I love the formula. My current favorite is Toast. I’ve also been reaching for Espresso a lot lately. I saw a TikTok about makeup artist Pat McGrath (original vid, i think) mixing the two, and I wanna try it!
I just finished Inventing Anna on Netflix. It was a great watch! I’ll admit, I didn’t really understand the whole Anna Delvey thing when it happened, but this put things in perspective. I loved the Neff episode! The Kacy/Morocco episode was sooo tense, and the finale/trial was nuts. I thought it was perfectly cast all around. Highly recc!
I bought this GapFit Jacquard jacket in deep rich purple, and in absolute love with it. I can’t get enough of rich purples this season. It’s also extremely warm! Much warmer than I was expecting. This color sells out often, but the black and grey are just as chic. I went with my true size but could have sized up - I found it didn’t fit as large as the reviews said. I would have loved this when I lived in the Marina.

Dramatic Magenta by Lululemon has me in a complete chokehold. I got the Scuba funnel mentioned here as well as the Define and both are seriously beautiful. I am crossing my fingers that they come out with groove pants in this hue! I do know that the Back in Action long sleeve will be coming out soon… and I am going to swipe it soooo fast when it does.
I’ve been working on my fitness and added these weights. I love how lightweight they are; they come with a rack and cute colors. Having these in the house makes it easier to get up and do a quick flow. It’s also a fun way to separate the work day or tasks.
On another wellness note, I went to a medical dermatologist for something. I asked the doctor when I could return to my usual routine - which included cycling with rx retinoids and a liquid exfoliant. They asked me point blank why I was even using an exfoliant as I am far too young. I was shocked when they said this. They knew my age, and let’s just say I’m closer to 40 than 30. They said for my age, this is far too harsh for my skin and to implement it in about another decade. If I want to keep it in my routine, use it once a week max. This was super sobering and had me questioning a lot of my skincare and what I am being sold. I’m going to strip things back and rethink my skincare routine. For now, I’m going to use up my products, including the exfoliant, once a week (it’s this one if you’re curious!) and reassess: I’m using this face wash (aesthetician recc), this serum at night (also aesthetician recc - if I rebuy which tbh I do love it and have seen a difference since implementing, I’ll wait until black friday because it is $$$), this eye cream (which I know I will keep, I have this on subscription and it was a recc from another derm), this night cream, this serum for day, this SPF, and this day cream.
I LOVE MY ESPRESSO MACHINE. My husband got me the Breville Barista I wanted on Valentine’s Day, and 8 months later, I can’t get enough. I make my lattes and cappuccinos every morning, which I genuinely look forward to. Here’s my go-to: Vanilla Sea Salt Cappuccino — a double shot, whole milk with a pinch of sea salt and 1/2 tsp of vanilla extract steamed and foamed. Delicious!! When I make them iced, I froth the milk with this cute but powerful frother (and use this cup! It’s my version of a venti lol). For Fall, I like to add pumpkin spice too (the TJ’s version is my fav bc it has lemon peel). :-)
PS - I have a new Saturday AND Sunday series launching this weekend on mycyberspace! Get excited!! xx sSs
