When it comes to iconic sneakers, the New Balance 530 has carved out a special place in my heart.

The New Balance 530 made its debut in the early 1990s as part of the brand's 500 series. It quickly gained popularity for its innovative combination of style and performance. Designed as a running shoe, it provided excellent cushioning and support, making it a favorite among athletes and runners. Today, it still feels timeless. In the 2020s, it feels just as fresh as the 1990s.

One of the standout features of the New Balance 530 is its minimalist yet distinctive design. The shoe boasts a clean, sleek silhouette with suede, leather, or mesh materials and often metallic accents. Its colorways range from classic and understated to bold and eye-catching, catering to various tastes.

What makes the New Balance 530 truly special is its ability to complement a wide range of outfits effortlessly. Whether paired with jeans, shorts, or even a casual suit, these sneakers add a touch of classic cool to any ensemble. They are so easy to take from the gym to out.

My personal favorite way to wear them is with denim, a good black belt, and a black turtleneck (bonus points if the turtleneck has thumbholes - I LOVE these).

As someone who constantly lives in a world of retro-nostalgia, I've been steadily building my collection of New Balance 530s. Right now, I have seven pairs. One thing you will learn about me really fast is that if I like something, I build a collection of it. A lot in my closet is the same item in various colors or sizes.

When it comes to activewear in general, I look for anything that evokes the 90s, 90s, or Y2K. I also like anything metallic, neon, or pastel. Similar to Lululemon, every colorway is a limited edition. Also, similar to Lululemon, I like to collect the colors that speak to me.

I don’t have these (wish I did though) because I missed out on my size, but I love them, and they have some sizes left.

These also sell out FAST. Often within hours or days. If you see one you like, especially if you wear a common size like I do (oh how I wish I weren’t the average foot size!) - if you see a color you like, BUY IT.

re: Sizing - these fit true to size. Note: they are unisex sizing. I wear a Women’s 8 so in the 530s, I take size 6.5.
